Jon Roniger & The Good For Nothin’ Band

Jon Roniger and The Good For Nothin’ Band proudly plays all original grease slicked, jazz licked, funk-blues that draws wayward wanderers from the streets and pulls them to the dance floor. In the six years since the band’s inception, they boast a host of local residencies on the highly competitive New Orleans music scene. The band consists of Jon Roniger (singer/songwriter, guitar), Brenden Bull (drums), Bob Kling (bass), Ellis Seiberling (trombone), Jake Gold (keys) and Raphael Zimmerman (trumpet).

For 200+ shows a year, Jon Roniger and The Good For Nothin’ Band tour nationally and internationally. “Maniac World”, their first LP garnered rave reviews; “New Orleans based five piece The Good for Nothin’ Band practically crackle with chops on each cut.” (Lydia Hillenburg, Vents Magazine), “There’s something to satisfy every sensibility. This is an outfit with a boundless future.” (Michael Saulman, Gashouse Radio), Their sophomore effort “Second Shot” released in April of 2018 and singles “My World”, “Hello Beautiful” and “Do What Makes You Happy” released in 2019/2020 garnered the band appearances at Vinter Fest in Copenhagen, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, The French Quarter Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Ingolstadt Blues Fest and Festival REM in France.

The band released “Let’s Get Lost” in March 2021, and a live album on August 15, 2021 called “Live at 6010”. Both albums featured previously unreleased material. The 2021 records received rave reviews like; “reminds you of that time you wandered into a bar when a random band was playing, and you left being their biggest fan.” (Take Effect, Oct 6, 2021) and “a powerful performance that contains infectious energy” (Beach Sloth, Oct 2021). The band toured Europe again in November, 2021 and June, 2022, performing a series of shows at The Copenhagen Jazz Festival. The November 2022 tour in Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and Germany was hugely successful. In June 2023, following the release of a new record called “Hello Beautiful,” and another show at The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the band is back in Europe, with shows in The Netherlands, Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and Czech Republic.
